In Europe, the hotel construction pipeline reached 1,736 projects and 255,976 rooms, a 3% year-on-year increase. The luxury and upper upscale segments reached record levels, with the upscale segment remaining the largest by volume. Geographically, the United Kingdom led European activity, followed by Turkey, Germany, France, and Portugal.
European hotel investment for the first half of 2026 totaled 11.7 billion euros. Although this was a 9.5% decrease compared to the previous year, it remained 19.5% above the ten-year average. Investment has been characterized by high selectivity, with capital concentrating on premium assets and a 30% year-on-year increase in transactions exceeding 100 million euros. The United Kingdom led this investment with 3.22 billion euros, while Spain followed with approximately 2.6 billion euros, marking a nearly 35% growth in its market.
