Global biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration

Global efforts to protect biodiversity and restore ecosystems are being highlighted through various local and international initiatives. Conservation strategies are increasingly utilizing rewilding to promote natural self-regulation and ecotourism to fund protection efforts. Examples include mountain gorilla tracking in Rwanda to support anti-poaching patrols and species observation in the Galápagos Islands. However, challenges remain, such as the rise of illegal wildlife trafficking facilitated by social media and the risks posed by improper human intervention with rescued wildlife.
