Educational institutions across Europe and Latin America continue to implement initiatives to promote environmental awareness, biodiversity studies, and sustainability. In Europe, the ‘Turtle’s Dream’ e-Twinning project has engaged students from Spain, Italy, and France to study marine biodiversity. In Italy, the 2026/2027 school year sees the return of the Associazione Natura per Tutti APS ‘La scuola nel bosco’ project, focusing on outdoor education and ecosystem exploration. Additionally, the waste consortium Covar14 is renewing its ‘Eco RoB – Missione Ambiente’ project across 19 municipalities and introducing ‘Ecovariando Teen,’ an environmental journalism program that teaches students to produce multimedia reports while learning to identify environmental fake news and use generative artificial intelligence responsibly. In Spain, students at CEIP Comuneros de Castilla use robotics for flood prevention, while the ‘Segovia Educa en Verde’ program offers nature routes and composting. The ‘Tú Haces Alicante’ program provides workshops on waste and electronic management, and Ecoembes is expanding its ‘Naturaliza’ project. In Latin America, efforts focus on resource management and circular economy practices. In Bolivia, youth in El Alto have completed training as environmental facilitators ~~focused~~ through the Diocese of El Alto, focusing on ecological conversion and socio-environmental ~~justice, with upcoming field visits~~ justice. In Ecuador, the Institute of Geological and Energy Research (IIGE) conducted technical training for the Maquita Foundation in Guayaquil, funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).
