Global teacher training initiatives for artificial интелlece

Overview

Various educational initiatives are being launched to train teachers in the use of artificial intelligence.

In the United States, the American Federation of Teachers has partnered with Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic to create the $23 million National Academy for AI Instruction. This five-year program aims to train up to 400,000 K-12 educators. Additionally, the AFT and Microsoft have established privacy and security standards to prevent student tracking and ensure human oversight in AI-driven decisions.

In Poland, the Orange Foundation, in partnership with the Foundation for the Development of the Information Society and Input Signal Sp. z o.o., has introduced the ‘Lekcja:AI’ project. Supported by the Ministry of National Education and European Funds, this program offers free online and in-person training to approximately 11,000 primary and secondary school teachers through June 2027. The project focuses on integrating AI into teaching methods and promoting responsible usage.
