In Turkey, the Toprak Mahsulleri Ofisi (TMO) announced the removal of the ban on bread wheat and wheat broken-grain exports. The agency stated that domestic production, stock levels, and consumption needs now ensure “sufficient market security.” Export licenses will be processed through the Orta Anadolu İhracatçı Birlikleri (OAİB) to maintain a “controlled and balanced trade flow.”

India has significantly shifted its export policy for wheat, durum wheat, and wheat-based products—including flour, atta, maida, and semolina—from “Prohibited” to “Free.” While the government had previously allowed limited, quota-based exports earlier in 2026, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has now issued notifications removing those restrictions entirely.

These policies, originally implemented in May 2022 to protect domestic food security and control inflation amid global volatility, follow record harvests. India’s recent wheat harvest reached 120.6 million tonnes, contributing to an all-time high total foodgrain production of 376.563 million tonnes for 2025-26. Officials noted the move is intended to support farmers by improving market prices and returns, while contributing to global supply stability as Black Sea grain flows face ongoing disruptions.
