The power struggle at Hospital & Maternidade Luz has reached a turning point. Vanessa successfully orchestrated a plan to reclaim the presidency by utilizing Junqueira as a strategic ally and manipulating her daughter, Leandra, into joining the hospital council. This maneuver secured the necessary votes to remove Bela from her interim position. Following the vote, Leandra confronted Vanessa for using her as a “pawn in the corporate scheme,” threatening to become a family enemy if Vanessa interferes with Bela’s charitable work. Gabriel has also pressured Vanessa, accusing her of using Leandra to harm Bela. Recent developments show Vanessa signing her divorce papers, though she claims to still love Gabriel. Meanwhile, Peixe has expressed growing suspicion regarding Vanessa’s motives. Vanessa’s presidency has since been challenged by her attempt to implement a mass layoff plan to increase profits. This decision sparked outrage among staff and led Bela to resign in solidarity. However, Junqueira warned Vanessa that Bela’s departure would damage the hospital’s reputation and threaten his investments. Under this pressure, Vanessa was forced to reverse the layoffs and convince Bela to return, provided that all dismissed employees were rehired. Bela’s tenure has also been marked by a racist encounter when her neighbor, Nair, refused medical treatment from her due to her race. Bela decided to call the police regarding the incident, receiving support from Gabriel and Nelma, though Vanessa questioned the handling of the situation. Amidst these professional tensions, Bela has experienced a profound emotional milestone when a young boy, Samuca, began calling her ‘mother’ following the death of Juli. Parallel tensions involving Juarez and Zé escalated into tragedy when Juarez found Zé dead in a workshop.
