Google and Meta cryptocurrency advertising regulations in AE
Overview
Google implemented updated financial products policies in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) effective October 21, 2026. To advertise cryptocurrency services, companies must now secure specific licenses and obtain Google Ads certification. For exchanges and software wallets, advertisers are required to hold licenses from either the Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (VARA) in Dubai or the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) in Abu Dhabi.
Following these updates, both Google and Meta have established frameworks for regulated advertising in the UAE. However, these policies do not extend to other regions such as Pakistan, as its regulatory body is not included on the approved lists for either platform.
