Google Search briefly displayed incorrect information claiming OpenAI CEO Sam Altman had died. The error was triggered by malicious vandalism on Altman’s Wikipedia page, which underwent an extreme burst of activity involving as many as 22 rapid revisions. Because of the automated nature of Google’s Knowledge Graph, the false data was scraped and displayed in search results for approximately 41 minutes.
