GoVolta low-cost rail service expansion

Overview

Dutch low-cost, open-access train operator GoVolta is expanding its budget rail services between the Netherlands and France. Initially, the company announced a service connecting Amsterdam Centraal to Paris-Gare du Nord starting this upcoming winter, positioning itself as an affordable alternative to Eurostar with tickets starting at approximately $22.

Following this, the company announced a direct daily service starting December 14 between Rotterdam Centraal and Paris Gare du Nord. This route will include stops in Antwerp, Ghent-Sint-Pieters, Arras, and Amiens. To maintain low fares, GoVolta will utilize the standard railway network instead of high-speed lines, resulting in longer travel times. One-way tickets for the Rotterdam-Paris route are expected to start at 19 euros when booked well in advance.
