Gran Turismo 7 has achieved significant commercial success, with producer Kazunori Yamauchi confirming that sales for the seventh installment have exceeded expectations, reaching over 14 million copies. This brings the total franchise sales to over 100 million units worldwide. Polyphony Digital intends to maintain momentum through new content releases, such as the Spec IV update.

Technical interest has also emerged regarding experimental PC emulation via the KytyPS5 emulator. While high-end hardware has enabled gameplay, performance levels of approximately 17–25 fps are currently considered insufficient for smooth racing.

On the competitive front, the game is introducing new online events. The Manufacturers Cup Exhibition 3 will feature a four-round series at various circuits, emphasizing consistency and strategic pit stops. Additionally, a partnership between Fanatec and Polyphony Digital has launched the ‘Fanatec Gran Turismo Eifel Cup 2026,’ a global time trial event at the Nürburgring GP circuit where top performers can win hardware prizes such as Gran Turismo DD Pro wheels.
