GWM expands Ora lineup and global manufacturing

Great Wall Motor (GWM) is aggressively expanding its global footprint and product diversity. In July 2026, GWM reported a 3.54% year-on-year increase in total vehicle deliveries to 108,067 units. While domestic sales in China fell by 27.23%, overseas markets saw a 50.93% surge, accounting for 57.39% of total monthly sales. To support international growth, GWM is rolling out the Ora 5 compact SUV under a strategy of “All Scenarios, All Powertrains,” offering hybrid, gasoline, and electric configurations. Following its launch in Europe, the model has expanded into Spain, Germany, Argentina, and Brazil. In Poland, importer Astana Motors Poland has begun the rollout of the Ora 5, with initial units arriving at logistics centers and 11 dealers already contracted. The company aims to expand this network to 20 sales and service points by the end of 2026. GWM is also promoting its Wey series crossovers to diversify its lineup. In Latvia, the company is marketing the Wey 03 and Wey 05 plug-in hybrid models. Manufacturing capabilities are also scaling, with a commitment of R$4.6 billion to a new 1.74 million-square-metre complex in Aracruz, Brazil, scheduled to begin operations in 2029. In September 2026, GWM expanded its Ora brand presence in Australia and New Zealand through the ‘Live a Little mORA’ campaign. Concurrently, the company expanded its South American reach with the launch of the Ora 5 in Ecuador and Argentina. In Ecuador, distributed through Grupo Ambacar, the 100% electric model features a 58.33 kWh lithium battery and a range of up to 435 km. In Argentina, the Ora 5 HEV was introduced, featuring over 20 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and a 14.6-inch multimedia touchscreen. Furthering its South American expansion, GWM introduced the Haval H7 PHEV in Uruguay, a plug-in hybrid SUV with a combined range of up to 1,000 kilometers.
