Greek academic and governmental institutions are focusing on internationalization and specialized training to bolster national sectors. The agreement establishes a five-year memorandum strategic framework for sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation, facilitating the exchange of understanding to cooperate on tourism expertise, investment, promotion, and professional education, aiming training. A joint committee will be created to address destination saturation and promote economic oversee progress and coordinate efforts within international organizations such as the UN World Tourism Organization. Additionally, the ‘Tourism Cares: Unite for Cleaner Destinations’ environmental sustainability. initiative is expanding from Cyprus to Greece. Included in the UN Tourism programme for World Tourism Day 2026, the campaign focuses on reducing single-use plastics and organizing cross-border clean-up activities involving tourism businesses and volunteers to tackle waste in beaches, coastlines, and seabeds.
