Greek fiscal and social security disbursements

Overview

In mid-October 2026, the Greek social security fund e-EFKA and the Public Employment Service (DYPA) scheduled the distribution of €71.78 million in benefits to over 83,000 beneficiaries. These payments included €15.2 million for maternity, sickness, accident, and funeral benefits, as well as €20 million from DYPA for unemployment and employment programs.

Following these social security disbursements, the Greek state issued new 26-week treasury bills. These bills offered a yield of 2.64%, an increase from the 2.58% yield recorded in late September. A notable feature of this issuance is that interest earned remains tax-free if the bills are held until their maturity in April 2027.
