The Ministry also addressed staffing shortages by initiating an A2 recruitment phase for approximately 250 teachers. Student welfare measures include a reopened application window for housing allowances (ranging from €1,500 to €2,500) and a special 2% Panhellenic exam quota for students in natural disaster-affected areas. Furthermore, approximately 80,000 students in five-year programs face potential deregistration at the end of December 2026 unless specific academic criteria are met. Recent updates to higher education include the announcement of admission results for special categories, such as children of Greeks living abroad and graduates of foreign high schools. Out of 888 applicants in these categories, 663 were admitted, with enrollment scheduled between October 2 and October 9, 2026.
