Following domestic championships in July 2026, Greek athletes continued their campaign at the European Championships in swimming and athletics. Additional swimming successes included Apostolos Sisikos winning silver in the 200m backstroke. In the women’s marathon race walk, 42-year-old Antigoni Dritsopioti set a new Greek national record with a time of 3:22:16 to finish fourth, despite recovering from a rib fracture. Panagiota Chinopoulou finished fifth in the same event. Other results were mixed: Anastasia Dragomirova placed second in the heptathlon shot put but withdrew from the 200m due to a foot injury, leaving her in 14th place.
