As the August holiday period concludes, the Attica region is experiencing significant movement across both maritime and road networks. In late August, a surge in passenger traffic was noted at the ports of Piraeus, Rafina, and Lavrio, with departures for the Greek islands expected to exceed 80,000 travelers over a three-day period. Road networks have faced sustained pressure. By early September, heavy traffic congestion returned to the Athens metropolitan area as residents returned from summer holidays. Kifissos Avenue and Kifissias Avenue saw significant delays, including a three-vehicle accident near Lenorman in Sepolia. On October 23, severe bottlenecks were noted on the Kifissos highway from Egaleo to Nea Filadelfeia, while Attiki Odos saw airport-bound delays of 20 to 25 minutes between the Dimokratias and Kifisias junctions.
