Greek public reaction to Argyros-Guilfoyle connection

Public discussion in Greece has emerged regarding the social ties between singer Konstantinos Argyros and Kimberly Guilfoyle, the former U.S. Ambassador to Greece, following her departure from the role.

Journalists on SKAI initially noted the high visibility of Guilfoyle in Athens' social and business circles and suggested that Argyros should acknowledge his connection to her rather than distancing himself from the controversy.

This prompted further criticism from actor Lakis Lazopoulos on ‘MEGA Non Stop’, who characterized Argyros’s decision to remain silent as ‘not nice’. Lazopoulos suggested the singer was retreating due to fear of public scrutiny. Argyros has responded by stating he has not closely followed the political developments and prefers to focus on music.

Media personality Natalia Germanou has also joined the criticism, noting the pair's frequent public appearances in the Greek nightlife scene. She remarked that even if their relationship was merely transactional, Argyros should have acknowledged it, stating, ‘Kimberly... Remind me. He denied her.’ Other commentators have suggested the singer may be attempting to avoid controversy surrounding recent revelations involving Guilfoyle.
