The Greek government’s “Tourism for All 2026-2027” voucher programme opened its online portal in early August 2026. On 8 August, households whose taxpayer identification number (AFM) ends in 7 or 8 were invited to submit applications for digital travel vouchers worth €200-€600, depending on season and beneficiary category. The rollout continues with AFM 9-0 on 9 August and a fully open window for all AFM numbers from 10 to 21 August; the final deadline is 21 August 2026 at 23:59. Eligibility thresholds have been raised to €21,000 for single earners and €33,000 for married couples, with no income limit for persons with a disability rating of 67% or higher or families with disabled children. Larger families receive higher per-child allowances, reported as €5,000 per child. Seventy percent of the programme’s budget is earmarked for off-peak travel (October-April). Beneficiaries are selected through an electronic lottery. Applications can be filed online at vouchers.gov.gr using Taxisnet credentials or in person at any Citizens’ Service Centre. The scheme runs in two phases: Phase 1, now clarified to continue until 30 June 2027, and Phase 2 through 31 December 2027, drawing from the non-selected list without a new lottery. As the application window opened to all, the Ministry of Tourism reported that 647,000 applications had already been submitted, with a significant majority targeting the low season. Despite this volume, the program has faced political criticism from PASOK, which highlighted delays in implementation compared to previous years. Regarding usage, beneficiaries can book up to six nights at accommodations from the DYPA Provider Registry, requiring a small private contribution. Beneficiaries must contact providers directly to make reservations. Specific rules govern family stays, including provisions for spouses and children, while providers must verify identification and activate vouchers through DYPA's electronic services upon arrival.
