Greek Super League officiating updates

Overview

The Greek Central Refereeing Committee (KED) released appointments for the 7th matchday of the Super League and Super League 2. Notably, referees Polychronis and Tzilos remain excluded from domestic assignments for a second week following controversy during the Volos-AEK match, though Polychronis has been assigned as a fourth official for a Europa League fixture.

In a separate development regarding officiating technology, the Stoiximan Super League announced the introduction of ‘Goal Line Cameras’ to assist VAR and AVAR officials. Following the adoption of semi-automated offside technology, these cameras will provide additional visual angles for manual review to determine if a ball has crossed the goal line. Testing is scheduled for the 7th matchday, with full implementation expected by the 8th matchday.
