In Athens, the Karolos Koun Art Theatre is launching its season at the Frynichou stage starting October 2. The lineup includes a Greek version of Giuseppe Massa’s ‘The Miracle’, ‘The Confessions of Elli Alexiou’, and Henrik Ibsen’s ‘Rosmersholm’. The theater also plans to premiere Stamatis Fasoulis’s autobiographical monologue, ‘The Theatre or Your Life’, in mid-October.
Anesis Theatre and Happy Productions have also revealed their Athens repertoire, which spans two stages and includes returning commercial successes and new works. Notable productions include a theatrical adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘The Last Exit – Rita Hayworth’, the psychological thriller ‘Johnny Blue’ by Giorgos Tsouris, Sophie Swithinbank’s ‘Bacon’, and the biographical play ‘Barrymore’. The season also features the continued run of the children's production ‘Still’.
In Patras, the act theater is entering its 18th year of operation at the Gerokostopoulou Stairs. Its autumn-winter season, running from September 2026 through January 2027, features nine adult productions, five stand-up comedy evenings, two children's plays, and a geography quiz game night. The season begins September 24 with ‘Sons and Daughters’ by Giannis Kalavrianos, performed by the SKELETA theatrical group, which utilizes interviews with elderly citizens to narrate Greek history. Other scheduled highlights include ‘Chekhov³’ in October, featuring one-act plays such as ‘A Marriage Proposal’, ‘The Harmful Effects of Smoking’, and ‘The Bear’.
