Guatemalan cultural events in 2026

Overview

Guatemala has scheduled two major cultural events for late 2026 that highlight different aspects of the nation’s heritage.

On August 29, the ninth edition of Street Fever will be held at Fórum Majadas. This event acts as a regional hub for Latin American urban culture, featuring streetwear, fashion, art, and music with international participants from Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and Spain.

Following this, on September 27, the second Encuentro de Conviteros will take place in the Historic Center of Guatemala City. Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports to preserve intangible cultural heritage, the event will involve over 4,000 participants from 139 groups representing 20 departments. The celebration includes parades starting from Parque Jocotenango and the Miguel Ángel Asturias Cultural Center, both of which will converge at Plaza de la Constitución.
