Hugo, a four-year-old Shire horse residing in Towcester, Northamptonshire, has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the tallest living horse. To ensure measurement precision, a veterinarian verified his height while he was standing barefoot, recording him at approximately 1.98 to 1.99 meters.

Owner Brett Masters indicated that Hugo is still in a growth phase and may continue to develop until he reaches roughly eight and a half years of age. Due to his massive size and rapid growth, Hugo requires specialized medical attention, including care from a veterinarian, dentist, chiropractor, and massage therapist to monitor his health and hyperactive growth plates.

While Hugo holds the current title for the tallest living horse, he has not surpassed historical record-holders such as Big Jake or the all-time record holder, Samson, who reached 2.19 meters.
