Photographer Gustavo Germano’s project ‘Ausencias’ uses photography to explore the impact of forced disappearances during military dictatorships in Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay.

In August 2026, an exhibition of the series opened in Córdoba, Argentina, at the Casona Municipal to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the start of the last Argentine civic-military dictatorship. The event was a collaboration between the Municipality of Córdoba, the Direction of Cultural Centers and Training, and the Goethe Institute Córdoba.
