In late July 2026, Geno Segers was announced as the new Hades in the Broadway revival of Hadestown, set to open on September 1. Within days, resurfaced videos of Segers criticizing transgender athletes and mocking pronoun usage sparked a wave of backlash on social media and theater blogs.
