Halkbank strategic expansion and public offering

Overview

Halkbank has initiated a strategic expansion following the conclusion of a nine-year criminal case in the United States. General Manager Recep Süleyman Özdil stated that the case's end has “opened a new era for the bank in international markets,” noting that the institution has already raised approximately $1.1 billion from international markets.

The bank is pursuing a five-year strategic plan focused on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and sustainable growth. To support these objectives, Halkbank is preparing for a third public offering and a capital increase.

Following these strategic developments, Borsa İstanbul announced operational procedures for a secondary public offering of HALKB shares. This process is intended to increase the bank’s capital from approximately 7.18 billion TL to 8.98 billion TL. At the bank’s request, Borsa İstanbul will temporarily suspend trading of HALKB shares and related derivatives once the Capital Markets Board approves the offering prospectus.
