Hangzhou Open tennis tournament

Overview

The Hangzhou Open, an ATP 250 tournament held at the Olympic Sports Expo Center, concluded with Daniil Medvedev claiming the title. Medvedev, ranked sixth in the world, defeated compatriot Andrey Rublev 7-5, 6-4 in the championship match.

During the 93-minute final, Medvedev recorded 23 aces. This victory marks Medvedev’s 24th career title and his third of the 2026 season, following previous wins in Brisbane and Dubai. Notably, 23 of his 24 career titles have been won in different cities, with Dubai being the only repeat location. The win also strengthens his standing in the race for the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin.

For Rublev, the tournament represented a milestone of 400 career ATP-level victories and marked his first appearance in a Hangzhou final. Earlier in the tournament, Rublev had sustained a hand injury during a quarterfinal match against Hugo Gaston after striking an object in frustration, though he managed to advance despite the injury.

Medvedev’s path to the title included victories over Valentin Royer, Coleman Wong, and Roman Safiullin.
