Hannover light rail track renovation

Overview

In late August 2026, the Infrastrukturgesellschaft Region Hannover announced a six-week renovation project for light rail tracks on Limmerstraße in Linden. The work, scheduled from August 31 to October 9, 2026, is intended to replace tracks used by tram lines 10 and 12 that have experienced significant wear over several decades.

During the construction, Limmerstraße will be closed to individual vehicle traffic between Offensteinstraße and Ungerstraße. Light rail services will also face suspensions for several days during the track replacement phase. While through traffic is prohibited, access to residential and commercial properties will be maintained, and emergency vehicles will retain continuous access.
