Harassment of South Korean streamer in Istanbul
Overview
A South Korean streamer known as ‘withJENNY’ was subjected to verbal harassment and stalking while conducting a live broadcast in the Taksim district of Istanbul. During the stream, an unidentified individual approached the creator, made inappropriate propositions, and persistently followed her despite her requests to speak English and her stated inability to understand Turkish.
Following an investigation, police identified and detained a 59-year-old suspect, identified as A. A., in the Sarıyer district. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspect for ‘sexual harassment,’ and an administrative fine of 1,764 Turkish Lira was applied under the Misdemeanor Law.
