HBO series Hacks conclusion and release

The HBO comedy series ‘Hacks’ has concluded its five-season run. Following its conclusion, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment announced it will release a complete Blu-ray box set containing all 50 episodes and bonus features during the upcoming fall holiday season.

The series finale focused on the relationship between characters Deborah Vance and Ava Daniels, concluding with Deborah deciding to continue her life and work after a revelation regarding her health.

Throughout its run, the series achieved significant critical recognition. For its final season, ‘Hacks’ set a record with 24 Emmy nominations, the highest ever for a comedy series. Overall, the show earned 89 Primetime Emmy nominations and 14 wins, including Outstanding Comedy Series for its third season. Lead actress Jean Smart remains a top contender for awards following the show’s conclusion.

The complete-series Blu-ray release is now scheduled for December 8, 2026. This physical media collection will include approximately four hours of bonus features, such as deleted scenes, bloopers, ‘Inside the Episodes’, and behind-the-scenes content including screen tests and table reads. The series stars Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder, with an ensemble cast including Kathryn Newton and Kaitlin Olson.
