HD Hyundai Eco Vina has commenced construction on a major manufacturing expansion in the Dung Quat Economic Zone, Quang Ngai province. The project involves a $116 million investment to build an eco-friendly independent tank manufacturing plant, bringing the company’s total investment in the facility to $451 million.

The facility, spanning over 101 hectares, is designed to serve as a strategic production hub for the HD Hyundai Group’s global shipbuilding operations. It will focus on producing specialized tanks for LNG, LPG, fuels, and chemicals, as well as port cranes and components for clean energy transition projects.

Construction is expected to take approximately 12 months, with tank production slated to begin by 2027. The expansion aims to maintain the current workforce of 1,500 employees while creating an additional 1,500 local jobs through new recruitment and training. Nguyen Duc Tam, Chairman of the Quang Ngai People's Committee, noted that the project aligns with Vietnam’s national strategic orientation toward green development and emission reduction.
