Overview
Farroupilha, Brazil, is undergoing significant healthcare infrastructure and equipment upgrades. A new Central Health Unit (UBS), classified as a Porte 5 Basic Health Unit, is currently 76% complete. The facility is expected to cover over 2,200 square meters and will include medical and dental offices, vaccine rooms, and maternity care, utilizing solar energy for sustainability.
In tandem, Hospital Beneficente São Carlos is receiving substantial funding to modernize its services. State government funds of R$ 1.25 million are being used to acquire new equipment for the adult ICU, surgical center, obstetric center, and emergency unit, including anesthesia machines and electric beds. Furthermore, R$ 4.018 million has been allocated for a hemodynamics system to enable local minimally invasive cardiovascular and neurological procedures. A separate R$ 6 million project is also underway to expand and renovate the hospital’s surgical center, endoscopy area, and sterilization unit.
