Hells Angels organized crime investigations in Europe

Overview

Authorities in Europe have conducted large-scale operations targeting the Hells Angels motorcycle club for involvement in organized crime. In a coordinated effort involving over 1,000 police officers, raids were executed across approximately 140 properties in Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, and the Netherlands.

Led by the Duisburg Public Prosecutor's Office, the investigation focuses on 71 suspects accused of extortion, fraud, and professional money laundering. Investigators allege the group used a hierarchical system to funnel illicit wealth into real estate and various companies. The operation resulted in 14 arrests and the seizure of assets valued at approximately 48.6 million euros.

Data from the North Rhine-Westphalia State Criminal Police Office indicates that the Hells Angels remained the largest biker club in that region through the first half of 2026, with approximately 460 members across 26 chapters. This membership data was recorded prior to the recent large-scale raids in Duisburg which targeted local chapter leaders.
