Herceg Novi municipal and partnership celebrations
Overview
The municipality of Herceg Novi initiated a series of celebrations marking its Day of Liberation and Municipal Day. The program, scheduled from mid-October to early November, included cultural festivities such as parades, concerts, and a documentary premiere, while also commemorating the 140th anniversary of the Herceg Novi City Music.
A central component of these celebrations involved marking fifty years of friendship between Herceg Novi and its partner cities: Banja Luka, Zemun, Bitolj, and Kranj. To honor the original 1976 agreement, officials organized a ceremony featuring the planting of a friendship tree and the signing of a new memorandum. This updated agreement seeks to modernize regional cooperation by focusing on shared projects and opportunities to access European Union funds.
