Hidalgo industrial and economic development
Overview
The state of Hidalgo is pursuing industrial and economic growth through strategic investments and connectivity projects in central Mexico. A central element of this effort is the Reserva Zapotlán industrial pole, part of the Polos de Desarrollo Económico para el Bienestar. The initial phase of this project involves an investment of approximately 10,106 million pesos to develop 910.81 hectares for urbanization and industrial warehouses, with the goal of creating roughly 5,100 jobs.
Regional infrastructure is being bolstered by the Mexico-Querétaro and Mexico-Pachuca train projects, alongside the Mezquital Valley Water Plan. Furthermore, the integration of eight Hidalgo municipalities into the Valley of Mexico Metropolitan Zone provides access to a consumer market of 22 million people. The state’s proximity to the Arco Norte highway and Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) is intended to attract industries such as aerospace, automotive, and pharmaceuticals.
