The surge in high-tech Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Northern Vietnam continues to evolve, with specific provinces demonstrating massive cumulative inflows. In the first nine months of 2026, Bac Ninh recorded over $18.74 billion in cumulative FDI, a 22.5% increase from the previous year. Following its designation as a centrally-governed city, Bac Ninh has seen a projected GRDP increase of 11.81%, ranking fourth nationally in growth. Bac Ninh has also emerged as a national leader in export turnover. In September 2026, the province surpassed Ho Chi Minh City to lead Vietnam with $12.7 billion in exports. For the first nine months of 2026, Bac Ninh recorded $88.2 billion in exports, driven by manufacturing in electronics, telecommunications, and semiconductors.
