Higher education scholarship initiatives in Indonesia

Overview

Various Indonesian academic institutions have launched scholarship programs to support students facing economic challenges.

Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Indonesia (Unusia) introduced the Cahaya Pintar Scholarship for undergraduate and master’s students. The program targets high-achieving individuals from underprivileged backgrounds, offering tuition waivers for undergraduate studies and specific support for the Islamic Civilization History program at the Master’s level.

Similarly, the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Indonesia (ILUNI FEB UI), in collaboration with the University of Indonesia Student Executive Board (BEM UI), established a scholarship specifically for undergraduate students who are children of online motorcycle taxi drivers or couriers. This initiative aims to provide financial and moral assistance to help students maintain their higher education amidst economic difficulties.
