Hillary Clinton criticism of Netanyahu leadership

In subsequent remarks on ‘Morning Joe’, Clinton expanded her criticism to include the Trump administration, characterizing both governments as detrimental to their respective nations. She specifically addressed reports from the newspaper Haaretz alleging that United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed warned Netanyahu prior to the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack. Clinton described the failure to act on such a warning as a ‘failure of leadership’ and a ‘failure of protecting the people of Israel.’ She further speculated that Netanyahu may have dismissed the warning or sought to use the event to enhance his political position.

Netanyahu’s office has rejected these claims, labeling the report a ‘malicious or absolute fabrication’ and initiating legal action for defamation. While the UAE government has not confirmed or denied the reported conversation, sources familiar with the matter have reportedly supported the Haaretz account. Regarding future diplomacy, Clinton suggested that if Netanyahu is reelected, the United States should adopt a tougher stance toward Israel.
