Conservative council leader Steve Tuckwell stated the borough has been “singled out” compared to neighboring areas. In response, Deputy Mayor for Planning and Regeneration Jules Pipe maintained that the targets are “deliverable” and “not disproportionate.” The draft plan, which is currently under consultation, aims to address housing and economic growth through 2037.
