Overview

Authorities in Colombia are investigating multiple hit-and-run incidents across different regions.

In late August, an elderly man died on the Cúcuta-Puerto Santander road following a series of collisions. Reports indicate an initial impact occurred near a transit parking lot, after which the driver fled. Due to darkness and road conditions, subsequent vehicles struck the victim's body multiple times before bystanders could secure the scene.

In September, two additional incidents were reported. In the Riohacha district, a 68-year-old farmer died after his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle; the driver fled the scene. In Bucaramanga, a person sustained serious injuries after being hit by a white vehicle. In that case, the driver fled but left behind a license plate and bumper fragments, which authorities are using to assist their investigation.
