In August 2026, Ho Chi Minh City hosted several flagship exhibitions focused on food technology, tourism, and sustainable culinary practices. The ProPack Vietnam 2026 Food & Beverage Expo (6–8 August) gathered food-processing and packaging firms to showcase modern production technology and eco-friendly solutions. The Vietfish 2026 International Seafood Exhibition, organized by the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) under the theme ‘Innovation and Sustainability’, set industry records. Spanning 14,000 square meters, the event featured 568 booths and 335 enterprises from 18 countries and territories. VASEP President Do Ngoc Tai noted the platform serves to connect the entire value chain to transition the sector toward higher value creation. Building on this momentum, the VIFA ASEAN 2026 international furniture and handicraft exhibition took place from 2–5 September at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC). Concurrently, the 2026 International Goods Supply Chain Connection (VIS 2026) was organized from 3–5 September to facilitate B2B meetings with global retailers. On 4 September, municipal officials reviewed strong performance from the first eight months of the year, noting a 10.8% rise in the Index of Industrial Production and a 167.3% surge in FDI attraction, which exceeded 10 billion USD. To meet a full-year GRDP growth goal of at least 10%, the municipal People’s Committee is targeting growth of at least 11.07% in the third quarter. On 9 September, the city held a workshop at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House to discuss developing the cultural and film industries in connection with tourism and heritage conservation. The 3rd Ho Chi Minh City Friendship Dialogue, held from 10–12 September under the theme ‘Local Diplomacy: A Driver for Innovation and Sustainable Growth’, featured nearly 500 delegates and 35 international delegations.
