Hoa Sen School closure in Ho Chi Minh City

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training ordered Hoa Sen Secondary and High School to cease all enrollment and educational activities at its Hanoi Highway location. An inspection revealed the school lacked legal documentation regarding land use rights, house ownership, or valid lease agreements. Furthermore, the school’s main headquarters was not assigned enrollment quotas for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Following the closure order, officials began arranging the relocation of approximately 700 students from the Hanoi Highway facility. By early September, over 100 students had been accepted into various private institutions. Several private schools, including B. School, Nam Viet School, and Hai Ba Trung School, offered tuition discounts and transportation assistance to facilitate these transfers.

For students wishing to enter the public school system, the Department of Education and Training advised that placement is contingent upon students having participated in the 2026 grade 10 entrance exams and meeting the specific admission standards of the target public schools.
