Hong Kong has scheduled a series of cultural and sporting events throughout the summer and autumn of 2026. In July, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department launched the International Arts Carnival 2026, which includes the interactive “IMAGINE! PLAY!” exhibition. Concurrently, Tai Kwun hosted the “Better Together – Partnering Up for Hong Kong Movies” exhibition, a summer show curated by Sunny Chan Wing-san to celebrate local cinema. To celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, various sectors are launching promotions, including discounted airline fares and free museum access. During the festival, authorities reported public safety concerns regarding illegal fireworks and dangerous “wax melting” activities. Reports indicated fireworks being discharged near highways in Tai Po, posing wildfire and traffic risks.
