Hong Kong illegal employment enforcement operations

Overview

Hong Kong authorities conducted a week-long, multi-departmental crackdown on illegal employment between August 21 and August 27. The operations, codenamed “Twilight”, “Rainbow”, and “Champion”, targeted various locations such as warehouses, markets, and restaurants.

A total of 38 individuals were detained, including 31 suspected illegal workers, four men suspected of employing illegal workers, and three women detained as overstayers. Among the workers, four were found to be holding recognisance forms that specifically prohibit employment.
