Honor has officially confirmed that the Magic 9 flagship series will debut in China on September 28, 2026, with pre-orders currently available. The lineup may include standard, Pro, and Pro Max models. The series emphasizes mobile photography through a collaboration with ARRI to utilize cinematic color science, including ARRI LogC3 logarithmic gamma curves, ARRI Wide Gamut 3 (AWG3), and ARRI Looks to provide creators with greater control during post-production. Hardware specifications include the Honor Yuguang H1 independent imaging chip and a dual 200MP rear camera configuration, featuring a 1/1.28-inch primary sensor with an f/1.57 aperture and a 1/1.4-inch telephoto sensor with an f/2.6 aperture. To support long-distance photography, the devices will offer a Photography Master Kit featuring a 500mm teleconverter alongside a 200mm option. Design elements include a large rectangular rear camera module featuring an ARRI logo, a new Moss Green colorway, and a pill-shaped front cutout for the selfie camera and a 3D ToF sensor. The camera module is noted to be inspired by ARRIFLEX cinema cameras. To further position the series as a tool for mobile filmmakers, Honor showcased these capabilities and its Robot Phone at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, highlighting advanced stabilization features such as a mechanical gimbal system. On the software front, Honor will release MagicOS 11 on September 15 during its Global Developer Conference. The operating system introduces a system-level Agent via the YOYO assistant for proactive service and automated execution, alongside a “liquid glass” visual design and optimizations for storage and smoothness. Furthermore, Honor’s partnership with Meituan to establish a Basic Experience Joint Laboratory will focus on optimizing system scheduling and application performance for high-frequency scenarios such as navigation and food delivery.
