Honor X9e Pro durability and launch updates
Overview
Honor has expanded its smartphone lineup with a focus on durability and battery capacity. The company initially introduced the X7e, a mid-range device featuring military-grade water and dust resistance certifications and an 8560 mAh battery.
Following this, Honor announced the X9e Pro, which emphasizes even greater ruggedness and power. This model features a 360° shock-absorbing architecture capable of withstanding 3-metre drops, earning an SGS Five-Star certification for drop resistance. The device holds IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, allowing it to resist dust, high-pressure water, and high-temperature splashes up to 85°C, as well as submersion in water up to 10 metres deep. A significant hardware upgrade is the inclusion of an 11,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Honor claims is the largest in a smartphone. This battery supports 80W SuperCharge and 27W wired reverse charging.
To demonstrate these capabilities, Honor conducted field tests in Kuwait on Failaka Island. Media and influencers participated in a two-day interactive experience involving off-road adventures to test dust resistance and jet ski challenges to evaluate water resistance.
Honor has since announced the launch and pre-order availability of the X9e Pro, the first Pro model in its X Series. The device features a 6.8-inch 1.5K display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 10,000 nits, alongside a 108MP OIS main camera with CIPA 6.0 level stabilization. In Egypt, pre-orders are scheduled to begin on October 22, 2026, with official sales starting October 30, 2026, at a price of 27,999 Egyptian pounds.
