Hulu Reasonable Doubt season 4 release

Overview

Hulu has released promotional material for the fourth season of the legal drama ‘Reasonable Doubt’, including first-look images and a trailer. The season premiered on October 6, 2026, with an initial three-episode launch followed by weekly releases on Tuesdays.

The plot follows protagonist Jax Stewart, played by Emayatzy Corinealdi, as she attempts to rebuild her law firm following a violent attack on her family. A trailer revealed that the attack included a shooting where Jax Stewart was shot by a character named Monica, who was seeking revenge for a ruined reputation.

Following the premiere, the narrative picks up immediately after the Season 3 cliffhanger. The episodes focus on Jax’s recovery from a medically induced coma and the physical and psychological trauma she must navigate. As the Stewart Firm faces financial and operational instability due to the shooting, attorney Corey Cash returns to help stabilize the business. The firm also contends with rivals attempting to poach clients and a media crisis involving a wealthy R&B artist.

The season introduces several new cast members, including singer Durrell ‘Tank’ Babbs as music executive Eric Cropper, Taylor Polidore Williams as Brooke, La La Anthony as Melina, and Meagan Good as Regina Harris. Returning cast members include Morris Chestnut, McKinley Freeman, and Angela Grovey.

In recent developments, actress Emayatzy Corinealdi has described a turbulent arc for Jax, noting the character develops a “dangerous dependency on prescription painkillers” to cope with her trauma. This downward spiral includes a moment where Jax licks a courthouse sink to retrieve a dropped pill as she struggles to balance professional responsibilities with her personal demons. Additionally, actor Morris Chestnut has indicated that his character, Corey Cash, faces romantic complications as he navigates a relationship with his fiancée, Brandy, played by Essence Atkins, while managing lingering emotions for Jax.
