Human remains discoveries by search collectives in Tijuana

Overview

Search collectives in Tijuana have continued to locate human remains during ongoing operations. In early September, the Todos Somos Erick Carrillo Foundation discovered two sets of remains: a semi-charred body in the Tijuana River canalization and a mound of bones in the Alamar Arroyo canalization.

By late September, the collective ‘Buscando a Tolano’ reported finding four bodies—three men and one woman—at a landfill on the border of Tijuana and Playas de Rosarito. This discovery brought the total number of people located at that specific site to six, including two minors found previously in August.

In response to these findings, representatives from the search collective have called for genetic testing to identify the remains and have requested that authorities provide specialized machinery, increased forensic personnel, and permanent security to protect searchers at the sites.
