Humanitarian crisis in Chad's Lac province

Overview

In July 2026, Chad’s Lac province experienced a surge of approximately 60,000 new internally displaced persons. In response, the Chadian government and the UN coordinated aid efforts, including the distribution of food staples and a US$2 million allocation from the regional humanitarian fund to support food, health, and shelter.
