Humanitarian fundraising campaigns in Italy

Overview

In late September and early October 2026, humanitarian organizations launched fundraising initiatives across Italy to support children in global crisis zones.

Unicef began its ‘Ulivo’ campaign, which utilized more than 500 squares across Italy to raise funds for children in emergency contexts. The initiative involved volunteers distributing olive saplings and bags to donors. Nicola Graziano, president of Unicef Italy, noted the campaign coincided with the organization’s 80th anniversary and highlighted that over 500 million children live in or flee from conflict zones.

Following this, Save the Children launched the second edition of its ‘BisBuoni’ initiative on October 10 and 11. The campaign features fundraising stalls in various Italian cities where donors can receive a 200-gram tin of limited-edition BisBuoni biscuits—available in classic shortcrust and chocolate chip flavors—in exchange for a minimum donation of 15 euros. These biscuits are produced by Paterson’s, an affiliate of Ferrero. Actor Marco Rossetti participated in the launch at a stand in Rome’s Piazza Cola di Rienzo.

Alongside these fundraising efforts, Save the Children is implementing the ‘Fuoriclasse in Movimento’ project in partnership with UniCredit. This program aims to prevent school dropout by fostering active student participation through ‘Consigli Fuoriclasse’ (Fuoriclasse Councils), which allow students, teachers, and administrators to collaborate on improving school environments and teaching methods. Funds from the ‘BisBuoni’ campaign are intended to support families affected by conflict and natural disasters, noting that in 2025, an average of over 35,000 minors per day were displaced by violence.
