Humanitarian relief for Venezuela and Colombia earthquakes

Overview

Following devastating earthquakes in Venezuela and Colombia, which resulted in over 6,300 deaths in Venezuela and at least 294 in Colombia, the Latin community in Miami has organized multiple humanitarian efforts.

In August, the ‘Unidos por los Nuestros’ international telethon was held at the Kaseya Center. Led by artists such as Marc Anthony and Luis Fonsi, the event drew over 15,000 people to raise funds for disaster victims. During the opening, Don Francisco stated that “ante una tragedia tan grande, toda ayuda es bienvenida, hasta la más pequeña”.

In September, the relief efforts continued with the ‘Miami Ayuda a Venezuela y Colombia’ charity event at the Faena Forum. Organized by TECHO, this event brought together philanthropists and artists, including Yovanna Ventura and Joaquina, to support reconstruction efforts and assist affected families.
